Technical inspection

Each car must undergo a mandatory periodical technical inspection whose purpose is to check its technical condition. Older cars must undergo an inspection every year. During an inspection a car is examined by means of advanced diagnostic equipment to check if its key systems operate properly ensuring the safety of the driver and the passengers.

Tips

  • Before an inspection check if the basic systems and components (lighting, horn, braking system, tyres) operate properly
  • A car without a valid technical inspection certificate may not be driven on public roads
  • If your car does not have a valid technical inspection certificate, the police may seize your car registration certificate
  • If you're involved in a car accident and don't have a valid technical inspection certificate, you may be found guilty of causing the accident even if it was not your fault
