Guaranteed clear view far and wide!

The arrival of spring and the changing weather are ideal for viewing one element of the car that we, as car owners, often forget, rarely control, but always remember during the bad weather. Yes, you are right, we are talking about the wiper blades!

The wiper blades, as the name implies, are intended to wipe away impurities or to remove excess water from the front, or rear windscreen. As with every part of the vehicle, the wiper blades have been improved and refined over time and, as such, have contributed to improving the safety and aesthetics of the car. Although they became asymmetrical with time, that is, the left wiper blade became longer than the right, they became elastic, aerodynamic, basically remained, made of rubber, which over the time is aging and is also susceptible to fraying. At the same time, they are also the most thermally exposed part of the car, because in addition to being warmed by the sun, they are additionally heated by the windshield in the summer, or cooled in the winter.

According to the technical design, we distinguish wiper blades with stirrup and elastic band wiper blades. We will explain the above division on Bosch wiper blades.

Wiper blades with stirrup

Bosch stirrup wiper blades, Twin Series Wiper Blades, are recognized for their robust metal construction, which is elastic and designed to hold the wiper blade firmly against the windshield.

Also, on the structure itself, there is a place for the connection of the wiper blade with the wiper arm. A supporting spoiler is attached to the load-bearing structure, which directs the flow of the air, so that additional pressure is exerted on the wiper blade, thereby effectively removing the windscreen.

The advantages of Bosch Twin Wiper Blades are:

Seamless glass wiping, thanks to an easy-to-move glass coating with dual wiper blade eraser technology

Long service life thanks to its dual wear-resistant micro edge and full metal anti-corrosion strap system

Easy mounting in seconds, with the Quick-Clip universal adapter

Optionally comes with a spoiler for better wiping performance at higher driving speeds

Spring wiper blades

Unlike the previous type of wiper blade, the spring wiper blade differs in design, weight, and purpose. To clarify the design, we have used Bosch Aerotwin wiper blades with innovative and patent-protected P-P-P technology, namely Power Protection Plus technology.

The Bosch Aerotwin wiper blade itself is much lower and lighter, and its supporting part is aerodynamically constructed, which is often not the case with other wiper blade manufacturers. The elastic elements of the wiper blade are secured to the support element. With the Aerotwin wiper blade, the elastic elements are made of high-quality Evodium elastic steel formed into thin strips. The straps are inserted into the wiper blade of the windshield and thus place additional pressure on the windshield.

The advantages of Bosch Aerotwin Wiper Blades are:

The flawless effect of wiping the glass without slipping

Silent wiping off the wet and almost dry windshield

Longer service life even at extremely high ambient temperatures or extreme cold

Aerodynamic design for a better clear view and at high speed

Quality of the first installation

Easier and faster replacement of the wiper blade

Tested on a motor vehicle, with comprehensive vehicle-specific testing.

The wiper blade erasers in both variants are made with the innovative Power Protection Plus technology, which allows the glass to be wiped seamlessly, without trembling and uncomfortable squeaking of the eraser even on a dry surface.

Bosch's innovative wiper blade technology also features an extra reinforced edge of the wiper blade, making it possible to remove impurities, insects, and liquid more efficiently without leaving lines on the glass. With this innovation, the lifetime of the wiper blade has been extended. Manufacturers who do not keep up with the innovations and do not improve their products have a shorter life span, that is, all the shortcomings described will be visible even after a few miles.

Rear Wiper Blades

The types of wiper blades listed above are intended for mounting on the windshield, but what about the rear windshield?

The rear windshield is smaller than the front windscreen, making the rear windscreen wiper blade much shorter than the windscreen wipers intended for use on the front windshield.

There are three types of wiper blades available within the Bosch range of rear wiper blades.

Aerotwin Spring Wiper Blade

The Bosch Aerotwin Wiper Blade with state-of-the-art technology and when wiping the rear window shows first-class performance while wiping better, quieter and longer-lasting.

Plastic wiper blade

The shape and function of the rear windscreen wiper blades meet the requirements of the vehicle manufacturer and guarantee the flawless windshield wiper effect. Besides that, a wiper blade is integrated into the wiper blade for quick and easy installation.

Windshield Wiper Blade with metal stirrup system

With proven windshield wiper blade technology, this windshield wiper blade particularly clears the glass - as a standard type with a pre-assembled adapter or as a vehicle-specific solution in solid metal.

When to change wiper blades?

It is ideal to change the wiper blades twice a year in the spring and fall, but always once a year before the fall begins. Why?

In the winter, unless the vehicle is garaged, temperatures drop below zero overnight, and if there are snow and ice, the wiper blades will usually freeze on the windshield. Given today's very fast and busy lifestyle, very few drivers have the patience to let the vehicle warm and release the wiper blades and then consciously damage the wiper blades to start driving as soon as possible.

In this case, there is physical damage to the wiper blade, as the result of the bad habit, such as wiping snow with windscreen wipers. If we were lucky and did not destroy the wiper motor, we certainly damaged the wiper blades, which will no longer wipe the water from the windshield, but "smear" it on the windshield itself.

If we were careful during the winter, the same extreme condition with the opposite sign awaits the wiper blades in spring and summer. As the wiper blades freeze in the winter, they fry in the summer sun, and warming is aided by the heat from the windshield, which can reach the double outside temperature. Earlier in the text, we stated that the wiper blades are made of the quality and soft rubber, but freezing in winter and overheating in summer on the wiper blade leaves a mark in the form of an aging blade. It is a simple phenomenon that the blade becomes rigid, inelastic, and micro irregularities occur when it adheres to the glass surface. These irregularities are seen when wiping as a line of un-wiped water, and in severe cases, all stains remain or whistle or jumping of the wiper blade occurs.

If you notice that your wiper blades are damaged, be sure to replace them so that you do not find yourself in a position to offend a car accident due to reduced visibility.

Replacing the wiper blades is not complicated. It is described on each pack of new wiper blades. The manufacturer of wiper blades from Bosch has gone a step further and has created video manuals for mounting wiper blades, which can be accessed via the QR code, which is located on the back of the Bosch wiper blades.
