A door sensor detects opening of each car door. Its failure may be quite a nuisance, e.g. the internal lighting may not go off after closing all doors, the warning signal indicating that you left the light on may not be activated, the alarm system may be completely deactivated or you may be unable to lock the car using the central lock.
