Ignition module replacement
The ignition module is a part of the ignition system fitted in cars with a petrol engine. It directs a high-voltage current to the right spark plug to commence the process of combustion of the fuel-air mix. The ignition modules fitted in modern engines are rather stable but may brake down just as any other electronic device. A failure of the module may disable the engine.
Tips
- If no spark is produced on starting the engine, the ignition module may be broken
- If this is the case, the module must be changed immediately to prevent it from affecting the engine operation
Scope of services
- Disconnecting the battery
- Disconnecting all cables from the module
- Removing the module
- Fitting a new module in
- Reconnecting all cables
- Starting the engine and checking if the module operates properly
