Piston replacement
As a result of pressure, the pistons turn the crankshaft by means of the connecting rods. They may fail as a result of wear (they are exposed to extreme temperatures) or mechanical damage, when they collide with the valves (if the belt/chain breaks). Piston replacement requires dissembling the entire engine.
Tips
- The pistons should be replaced together with the piston rings and piston pins
- Piston replacement requires a major engine repair
