Support fitting

Support fitting

Made of steel or aluminium, the strut tower bar is usually fitted between the front strut mounts (rarely between the rear strut mounts or lower swing arms) to make the suspension more rigid and reduce the vibrations transmitted to the body. This solution is usually applied on vehicles which have undergone certain modifications, such as increasing engine power or a making the suspension more rigid.

Tips

  • Installing a strut tower bar is the easiest way of making the suspension more rigid
  • The bar is particularly useful in the case of older cars, whose suspension is worn and needs stiffening

Scope of services

  • Removing the bolts holding the struts to the mounts
  • In the case of a single-piece bar - fitting it in
  • In the case of a two-piece bar - lifting the car, fitting the bar in and extending it arms
  • Tightening the bolts holding the struts to the mounts
