            Service Description

What is a comprehensive car check-up?

In short, it is a detailed inspection of a car. A comprehensive car check-up covers all the elements of a standard check-up plus a thorough inspection of the braking, exhaust, suspension and steering systems. Additionally, it should include changing of the air and cabin filters, as well as oil in the gearbox, both manual and automatic. How does it influence particular car elements?

A comprehensive car check-up obligatorily includes changing engine oil and the oil filter. The engine oil is very important - it not only reduces friction, but also cools down the engine and protects it against corrosion. Changing oil and the filter protecting it against contaminants is one the priorities of such check-up. It also includes changing the air filter, which protects the engine against external contaminants.

A comprehensive check-up also covers checking the level of all car fluids, including the cooling, braking, power steering and windscreen fluids, as well as the tyre pressure and condition. If the pressure is too low, the tyres are inflated with nitrogen or air. A comprehensive check-up also covers all suspension elements and the condition of the steering system in terms of play and flexible joining elements. The braking system requires a throughout and precise inspection. A good garage will make sure to check the brake pads, discs, hoses, as well as joints and joint housings. They will also check the timing belt, the timing system and the timing chain, if any.

A comprehensive check-up is a thorough inspection of your car. Take the
braking system, for example. It undergoes a more thorough inspection than during a standard check-up, including the removal of drums, in order to carefully check the condition of the brakes and the shape of the disc brakes. The braking fluid is inspected against the most important parameter, that is, its boiling point and its amount in the system. The fluid is tested against its effectives.

Your car is also subjected to a separate test of its braking system, performed by means of a special diagnostic device, which checks the effectives of the system, including the emergency brake.

A comprehensive check-up also covers an inspection of the air bags. For safety reasons, it is important to make sure that they will be deployed in the right moment. A manufacturers type approval is valid only 10 years, this is why you should not miss its expiry date.

The drive train also requires a thorough analysis. During a comprehensive check-up the condition of the joints and their housings is checked, and any leaks are removed. Professional garages also check the clutch pedal travel and adjust it, if necessary. They also inspect the V-belt tension and adjust it, if necessary.

A comprehensive check-up includes an inspection of the ventilation system: heating, air-conditioning, as well as the level of the noise generated by the ventilation system. An inspection of the ventilation system includes, among other things, measuring the temperature of the air stream coming out of the air ducts.

In addition, your car is connected to a diagnostic tester, which records any deviations. This allows a precise identification of any failures otherwise difficult to notice during a visual inspection. As the diagnostic computer records data related to your car, it also cancels any errors and inspection messages.

Your car's lighting is also checked. The bulbs are tested not only in terms of their power, but also in terms of their positioning, to make sure that they do not blind the drivers coming from the other direction, and provide you with the widest possible illumination of your field of view.

During a comprehensive check-up the visual details and things having an influence on your everyday car use are inspected:

the wheels and the body are inspected for any cracks and chips, the electric and manual window mechanisms, as well as the trunk and filler cover mechanisms are checked for proper operation, the safety belts are checked in terms of their condition. A frequent problem as far as the latter are concerned is the malfunction of the belt drum, which is responsible for seat belt retraction. The seat belt mechanism should be checked regularly to prevent the seat belts from hanging loose. A comprehensive check-up also covers the vehicle motion sensor (it causes the seat belts to block during sudden braking) and the roll-out sensor (prevents the seat belts from being unrolled in a quick manner).

Regular check-up – preferably every 60 thousand km

A comprehensive check-up is followed by a report describing, among other things, the areas requiring mechanical and body repairs, the general condition of the body or the engine parameters. The engine is analyzed in terms of its start-up, operation in the neutral gear and during driving - especially in terms of unusual sounds and excessive noise, as well as uneven operation or power loss. You car is also checked against any unnatural vibrations. During a comprehensive check-up professional garages perform road tests aimed at evaluating a car's road worthiness.

After a check-up, a car owner is presented with a report including a mechanic's comments.
If necessary, each point of the report is explained in detail.

A comprehensive car check-ups should be performed according to the car manufacturer's recommendation. If you don't know them, the best solution is to have your car checked every 60 thousand kilometres.

Where to have a comprehensive check-up done?

You should always have it done by proven garages.
The Motointegrator Partner chain associates nearly 5 thousand garages nationwide, in which you can have your car professionally checked. Use the search engine to make an appointment. You can also contact our consultant for support or guidelines. After making an inquiry they will call you back to suggest visiting the nearest garage, and provide you with detail on the the date and the costs of the service. At the end of the process you will be asked to evaluate the service.
